Apply for our Graduate Technology Associate Scheme
Requirements and process
From what you have read on our graduate scheme and wider recruitment pages, we hope it is clear that we expect successful candidates to be highly intelligent and exceptionally numerate. In addition, we believe the early exposure to client facing roles and technical responsibilities requires excellent business sense compared to a standard software role.
While we will consider every application on its own merits, successful candidates will be expected to hold the following minimum academic qualifications.
Equivalent attainments under other qualification structures are of course acceptable – please get in touch via our Contact page if you’d like further information.
Our simple application process is built to assess these skills and how successful we believe you would be at APR.
- CV and Cover Letter – An opportunity to show us you’re qualified, motivated and want to join us. Note that we will not consider applications without a suitable covering letter.
- Online Test – A test on a mixture of topics to let you show us your programming skills and mathematical awareness.
- Assessment centre – An hour-long session in Edinburgh (although note that for the duration of the coronavirus pandemic we will be conducting assessment centres by video link). You will be asked to give a presentation on a topic of your choice and have an interview containing a mixture of technical, competency and values-based questions.
To apply, complete the online form below and submit along with your CV and covering letter. You should ensure that your application demonstrates you meet our minimum academic requirements and also include details of your right to work in the UK.
We typically have two intakes of new starters each year, a full intake in September and, subject to ongoing client demand, a further smaller intake around February. We therefore welcome applications from those in the final year of studies for the coming September intake, or those who are available sooner looking to start in either of the two intakes – it would be helpful if you could specify your preferred start date in your application.
Although we advertise roles via a number of channels at different times in the year, we are always willing to consider high-quality people, and so welcome applications even when we are not formally advertising. Similarly, there are no formal application deadlines, but we assess candidates as they apply, so recommend early applications where possible.
Note that when application volumes are high (typically in the autumn) there may be a slight delay in responding to you, but please be assured that we consider each application individually and will reply to all applicants.
