September 2025 Exam Results
As the year draws to a close and Christmas arrives, actuarial students across the country sat waiting for their exam results from the September session. Would they get an early Christmas present, or an empty stocking? At APR, we seem to always celebrate very good sessions, and this is yet another! Read on, as Martyna Czapiga summarises our staff’s efforts!
Opening week challenges
The September 2025 exam period began with a few unexpected hurdles: The CS2 and CP1 exams ran into delays, causing stress and disruption. As if that weren’t enough, the first week of the exam schedule coincided with a London tube strike, adding a layer of travel complications for many candidates. Despite less–than–ideal conditions, candidates arrived ready to tackle the exams, and were able to put the initial issues behind them. Not an easy start, but a memorable one, certainly!
Our results
APR’s overall pass rate for the September 2025 session stands at 77%, a strong performance across the board; in fact, we achieved a 100% pass rate in 9 exams! The pass rates were higher than the IFoA’s overall pass rates in nearly all exam groups, really highlighting the effort and preparation of our staff. This session also saw a significant drop in IFoA pass rates for two major exams: CS2 and CM1, both historically tough. In contrast, our results for these exams were significantly higher, putting us well above the industry average.

Highlights
Of course, we’d like to congratulate all staff on their superb results. However, a few special highlights for us to celebrate together:
- Philip O’Toole takes the headline seat for passing his final exam for Fellowship, another feather in the cap of our Dublin office.
- A notably large group of students made considerable progress this sitting, with Alina, Asees, Ben, Conor, Ellen, Imran, James A, Mark C, Mihai and Paul all picking up two exam passes (the latter having joined APR in just October!).
- Patrick sat (and passed) his first–ever IFoA exam, becoming the latest of our Junior Analysts to do so.
