Sessional Research Event: Improving the Success of InsurTech Opportunities Including a Guide for RIs (Edinburgh)

The “Risk Management in a Digital World” Working Party was formed in response to the ever increasing influence that the digital world is having on the insurance sector.
By commissioning a survey and carrying out interviews with key individuals and companies from both within and outside the Actuarial Profession, the Working Party has considered both the appropriateness of existing Enterprise Risk Management Frameworks and the capability of practitioners within insurance companies in the context of InsurTech.
The Working Party will present their report and findings at the Sessional Research event on 22 October, and will use the opportunity to launch their “Guide for Risk Considerations During the Innovation Journey”, in order to support the further development of risk considerations in decision making throughout the InsurTech investment process.
The event may be of interest to actuaries and risk practitioners working in the innovation and digital teams of insurance companies, as well as to those who have an interest in InsurTech and digital developments more generally.
