The Role of Actuaries in the Expanding Field of Data Science (Webinar)

A recent McKinsey Global Institute’s report stated that data and analytics capabilities have made a leap forward in recent years – the volume of available data has grown exponentially, more sophisticated algorithms have been developed, and computational power and storage have steadily improved. This talk looks at what data science is and shares research into the role actuaries might play in this expanding field.
Jane Barrett, author of ‘Taking Charge of Your Career’ (Bloomsbury 2017) and co-creator of the online programme ‘Career Maximiser’ will be hosting the session, with guest speakers Mark Lee, a PhD in theoretical quantum physics from the University of Oxford and Stelio Passaris is a systems actuary, specialising in modelling solutions, process improvement, and system automation.
Wednesday 11th July, 13:00 – 14:00. Further details, including link for booking a place can be found here: https://www.actuaries.org.uk/learn-develop/attend-event/webinar-role-actuaries-expanding-field-data-science.
